The owner wanted $6,200 for his Red 1996 Jeep Wrangler with 82,000 miles. It was in almost perfect condition on the outside but - before we bought it, we paid the nice people at Villa Auto to do a used vehicle inspection. Two hours latter, the technician told us,"This Jeep is beautiful on the outside folks but, under the hood and under the jeep, we have some real problems." He explained to us about several oil leaks, the poor shape of the manifold gaskets, the transmission seal leak, exhaust leak, a broken power steering reservoir and a few other problems. He said the Jeep might be worth $4,500 - if we didn't mind putting another $2,000 into it to get it dependable and running good.Well. . . thanks to the good people at Villa Auto, we passed on the sale and didn't loose our $6,000 in the process because we paid the Villa folks $125 to give us the low down on this Jeep . . . that is still for sale.
